What's Old is New: Using Photography to Share Education Stories

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

The great photographer Elliot Erwitt once said: “The whole point of taking pictures is so that you don’t have to explain things with words.” While avoiding words isn't exactly possible in education, the use of photography to share the stories of students and teachers does contribute to the understanding of and support for our classrooms and schools. And since nearly everyone now carries a camera in their pocket, photography is a tool readily available to be put to good use. This session will provide tips on how to make your school photos more compelling, how to make the most of your camera (even if it's the one in your smartphone), basic dos and don'ts that make for good and bad photos, and a discussion about the dreaded photo release form.
