Revision Assistant: Building Ongoing Writing Habits in the Classroom

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

A hands-on session to explore the ways that Revision Assistant, a software tool in place for all secondary students in DMPS, can help develop a culture of continuous writing and revision in the classroom. This tool gives students access to unlimited, on-demand feedback on their writing and helps save you from reading the same paper over and over again--what's not to like about that?!
NOTE: Revision Assistant is a prompt-based tool, and before deciding to come to this session you should take a look at the prompt library and make sure there are prompts there that would be useful in your class! The library can be accessed here: https://guides.turnitin.com/Revision_Assistant/Prompt_Library/Secondary_Education (and it is OK to fall in love with prompts that are not aligned to your grade level... those are more suggestions than rules...)

Thirteen delightful years in Des Moines teaching and leading the work in middle and high schools has left me with an opinion on everything. My current passions in technology are Achieve3000, Revision Assistant, and absolutely any tool that gets kids writing and reading more.
